This is the first blog post. Let’s see if it works.
On August 24 2024, there was a Rotary Leadership Institute meeting in Palm Bay. Your intrepid Rotarians went, leaving at 6 AM. The things we do for love.
I attended Part 1 which was broken up into five sections:
- I am a Rotarian
- rotary Opportunities
- Ethics and Vocational Services
- Rotary: The Bigger Picture
- Rotary: Foundation Basics
There was also an evaluation and closing ceremonies. And of course…the free breakfast and lunch.
There were about 60 Rotarians there and we broke up into four groups. There were two groups for Part One which was double what had been done previously. The other two groups were more advanced.
The Training has five parts total. When you complete the last part, you can lead the other meetings.
My favorite part of the Institute was meeting fellow Rotarians. I would have preferred to have less “training” and more opportunities to chat and learn from the participants.
I will probably do Part 2. It’s interesting to me and I’m curious to where the training leads me.
